Paperwork and $
The school year has begun and our first day was filled with the sounds of . . . . paperwork! This week both TSMS and TMIS need to turn in their band handbook acknowledgment forms (last page of handbook). Please make sure that your family reads through the handbook and makes note of all calendar dates. Also, this is a great time to take care of updating your contact info in our database system, CHARMS (directions on how to do this can be found here).
Band money is due as soon as your family can pay it. The use of this money is defined in our handbooks, but the first experience is t-shirts. We are not able to order the shirts until we have enough funds to do so. If your family is not able to pay the entire fee right now, please contact a director and we can work with your family. Band should be a positive, fun, learning experience and money should not hinder the process!
If your child is using a school owned instrument (tuba, euphonium, bassoon, low sax, oboe, or french horn) make sure that your $75 maintenance fee is paid as soon as you can.
Private lesson teachers schedules are filling up fast! Please contact a director to get set up with our great staff ASAP.
Please make sure to download the KISD forms for Field Trip and KISD Code of Conduct. These forms need to be turned in by September 3.
TSMS Band Book
Foundations for Superior Performance
If you are attending Trinity Springs Middle School as a 7th or 8th grade band member. Please purchase this book before band camp this August. As a musician you will use this book for the rest of your instrumental career. This book is instrument specific so please ask for your instrument version of this book! All local music stores will have this in stock, you can also purchase online.
Trinity Bands
We want our students to love band and creating music (not notes) for the rest of their lives. Students need to feel successful, likewise we must set them up to be successful. To meet this goal we must manifest solid foundations so that all students can all create quality tones, maintain correct articulation, and constantly hone technique. We must always make sure to communicate with our main support of the Trinity Bands program (i.e.. parents, faculty, administration) and must always work to educate our support community on the importance of band/music in our lives. We must also work to support each other as well as our private lesson instructors and extra helpers.
