Mr. Birmingham is a freelance euphoniumist, trombonist, low brass educator, and composer in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. He graduated from the University of North Texas, where he studied Euphonium Performance with world-renowned artist, Dr. Brian Bowman. Mr. Birmingham has performed with The North Texas Wind Symphony, The Lone Star Wind Orchestra, The North Texas Symphonic Band, The Honor Band of America, and The Starlight Band. He has also recorded exclusively with The North Texas Wind Symphony, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and North Texas Symphonic Band.

As an educator, Mr. Birmingham has taught low brass in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. His students have had great success in placing in All-Region, All-Area, and All-State bands. In addition, his students have consistently received superior ratings in their solo contests.

As a soloist, Mr. Birmingham has performed with the Broken Arrow Wind Ensemble, the Tulsa Community College Concert Band, the Tulsa Community College Community Band, the Timber Creek HS Wind Symphony and the Blue Lake Festival Band. As a competitor, he was . awarded 2nd prize in the International Leonard Falcone Student Euphonium Competition, 1st prize in the ITEC Great Plains euphonium student competition, 2nd prize in the International Women’s Brass Conference Euphonium Artist competition, 1st prize Oklahoma Brass Olympics, a finalist in the University of North Texas Concerto Competition, and recently Mr. Birmingham was awarded 1st prize in the 2018 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Artist competition.

Mr. Birmingham has a passionate love for life, and music. He credits: Dr. Brian Bowman, Dennis Fisher, Eugene Corporon, Reid Bennett, Paul Compton, and Darrin Davis as his main musical influences.


John Ingram

John Ingram is a Low brass instructor and free-lance euphoniumist in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s in music education and is currently pursuing a Masters in Euphonium Performance at the University of North Texas. He maintained an active low brass studio for several years in West Tennessee and Mississippi before moving to Texas. Mr. Ingram has performed with the University of Memphis Wind Ensemble, North Texas Symphonic Band, University of Memphis symphonic band, the Bottom Line Tuba ensemble, Backburner Tuba ensemble, and the Southern Bells Tuba quartet.
